Style: Hiphop/Rap/Spoken word
Kid Miracleman says: I've been writing bars for six years now and rapping for two, working independently with producers in the Surrey area. I take influences from every place I can find them, you may hear me spitting over the latest hot hip hop beat, but you may also hear me give a more spoken word performance over a score by The Cinematic Orchestra or a folk acoustic beat. I’ve been compared to Akala, J Cole, and Lupe Fiasco (that might just be the glasses thing), but I’m mostly trying to create my own lane and become your next favourite artist. Catch me at numerous music shows and on YouTube, and if you do see me, ask me to spit a few bars, always happy to spread the music.
Controvert says: The two videos that Kid Miracleman has released to date on his YouTube channel demonstrate promising versatility; showing from the start that he’s comfortable at two very different ends of the spectrum. ‘No Simple Answer’, a response to this summer’s riots, is the stand-out track; with a genuine message conveyed with passion. By contrast, ‘Good Feeling in the UK’ is high-energy and dancefloor-friendly; much more commercial but no less contemporary. Kid Miracleman is no one-trick pony, which only adds to the anticipation about what he’ll do next.
